Cistus, which is also known as rockrose, is one of the most decorative plants in Greece and his flakes look like crumpled silk.
Rockrose contains polyphenols, essential oils and resins – tannins, eucalyptol, limon and eugenol. It’s one of the richest source of phenolic compounds, which belong to a group of herbal substances with antioxidant and supporting the immune system effects.
Contained in cistus polyphenols function as a protection for body cells, strengthen and energize the body. They also improve skin condition and reduce unpleasant body smell.
Rockrose acts as a deterrent for insects and ticks and mitigates states after tick sticking, which might be useful during summer trips into forest or meadow. It can also impact protectively the stomach.
